[Bangkok] % Arabica is a familiar name for many café lovers, a renowned Japanese coffee brand known for its minimalist design.

If you are an % Arabica fan, then you should not miss this outlet which is the world’s highest café of its kind.

Yes, it is positioned on the 55th floor of the towering Sathorn’s Empire Tower.

Some brief history: Originating in Kyoto, % Arabica has seen a rapid expansion since its introduction to Thailand in 2014, and now boasts over eight branches across Bangkok.

This particular Empire Tower location offers you an experience with its elevated position, providing stunning views of the cityscape while you enjoy your coffee.

Getting to Empire Tower is quite straightforward.

Nestled in the bustling Sathorn district, it is accessible via the BTS Skytrain. Alighting at Chong Nonsi Station (Saint Louis is possible as well), you are just a short walk away from the tower.

Even the whole taking lift experience was quite something for me – I won’t elaborate more for you to enjoy the process.

However, do take note that this is an office building, so avoid peak lunch hours when it can get pretty crowded.

Needless to say, the view from the top of Empire Tower is nothing short of breathtaking.

As you sip your coffee, you would be treated to a panoramic vista of Bangkok’s skyline, especially King Power Mahanakhon Building right opposite.

To me, one of the highlights at this % Arabica Empire Tower is the new Maple Latte (THB 150, THB 180 for Iced).

This cup is blend of their signature espresso, steamed milk, and the rich, caramel-like sweetness of maple syrup.

While I wished the maple taste could have been more pronounced, it was a welcomed-change from the more predictable flavours.

The Soft Cream is another particular highlight and a nod to the brand’s Japanese roots.

A creamy, luxurious treat known for its silky texture and pure flavours, this is available in classic vanilla, matcha, or affogato.

A place to gaze out over the sprawling cityscape of Bangkok on Level 55, sip on Maple Latte, and watch the world go by.
