[BANGKOK] Babyccino has become a known photogenic spot and cosy café located in Ekkamai Soi 12 – the heart of Ekkamai.

The brunch cafe has “simple but unique”, “less is more” and “simple but elegant” in terms of concept.

It offers café-goers a European-style atmosphere, which still blends well with the Thai craft decor.

Note that it is about 2km from Ekkamai BTS station, so it is better to grab another form of transport here.

A lot of parking spots are provided (even though there is a time limit) making it very accessible and convenient to visit.

If you are here for photos, there is a water feature and garden outside, along with floor-to-ceiling windows for natural daylight to shine in.

When you step into the cafe, you can tell that there was special attention paid to the decoration and details.

Accordingly, almost all the decor pieces are handmade.

There are a lot of sitting areas throughout the cafe, both indoors and outdoors.

However, as the tables are a little close to one another, you may want it a more private corner space for your dine-in pleasure.

You can access the menu through a QR code on the table, with wide selection of savoury and sweet options, as well as drinks.

They state that they only use premium ingredients and materials.

In terms of savoury food, you get options of Great American Hot Dog (350 THB), Truffle Scrambled Eggs (280 THB), K-Bomb Fried Chicken (350 THB), Salmon Cream Cheese Toast (290 THB), Avocado Toast (270 THB), Grilled Canadian Ham & Triple Cheese Sourdough Sandwich (320 THB), to HANGRY Fried Chicken Burrito (370 THB).

The Salmon Cream Cheese Toast (290 THB) came with house-cured salmon, cream cheese and pickled onions on whole wheat sourdough toast.

With generous amount of ingredients, and a pleasant contrast of smoked salmon and light-crunchy toast, this is one of my favourites there.

The Avocado Toast (270 THB) was not too bad, with good-quality ingredients that allows you to savour the creaminess of the spread.

The pastries are made in-house, and not bought from external sources.

There are many to choose from such as Signature Brioche Premium French Butter Load (140 THB), Lemon Pound Cake (120 THB), Salted Caramel Banana Cake (100 THB), and Lemon Tart (140 THB) for sweet lovers.

Their must-try menu is the Pecan Carrot Cake (120 THB), which the server mentioned that it sells out “as easily as water”.

Coffee is one of the cafe’s specialties, with beans carefully selected from various sources.

The special drink options such as the namesake Babyccino (190 THB) which is espresso with signature sweet milk and cinnamon, and Rise & Shine (160 THB) of espresso with yuzu, pineapple, lemon and soda.

As the café was pretty cool due to the AC, I ordered the hot Horlick Malt Dirty (150 THB) for that comforting feeing.

The flavour was mild and smooth, not too sweet or milky. Just nice.

Babyccino

The hot Chamomile and Butterfly Pea Tea (95 THB) was pretty to look at, and supposedly helps in stress levels.

The butterfly pea made the drink presentation beautiful, though didn’t add much taste to the drink itself.

Some people may find the food prices on the menu on the higher side, plus there is additional service charge.

However, considering the quality of the food, pleasing atmosphere of the place, and also the parking spots provided, Babyccino can still be worth a visit.
