Goodbye Asanoya Boulangerie, Hello Kamome Bakery – Simply, Daily.

If you walked past the basement of Orchard Paragon, you would realise that the space previously occupied by Asanoya Boulangerie has been rebranded.

Kamome Bakery is founded by Chinami Date, and the bakery café quickly gained popularity for its Japanese-style breads and homely café style.

After opening its first outlet in Novena and expanding to Joo Chiat, Kamome Bakery’s success continued with a significant partnership leading to the opening of its new branch at Paragon.

A takeaway outlet, there is quite an enticing display of breads, with popular items like Melon Pan, Cubes, and Pork Cutlet (Tonkatsu) Sandwich.

There are other items such as Black Sesame Almond Croissant, Chocolate Croissant, Rare Cheese Cream Berry, Salmon Quiche, Cinnamon Roll, to Crispy Potato.

Each bread is priced about $3 – $5 each.

The Number 1 best-seller is the Red Bean Butter Bun ($3.20), combining salted butter with sweet azuki red bean paste, although the bread might feel a bit tough and chewy for some.

The Pork Cutlet Sandwich ($3.80) another noteworthy item, is a decent alternative to common sandwiches, featuring a nice soft bun and an adequately tasty pork cutlet.

Another similar choice would be the Prawn Cutlet ($4) featuring succulent prawns coated with crispy panko crumbs and then deep-fried, sandwiched in a bun.

Kamome Bakery known for its Japanese-style freshly baked bread and pastries, make it a popular spot among Japanese and locals.

The bakery prices remain reasonable for now (considering town area) and good quality make it a worthwhile visit for anyone craving Japanese-style baked goods.
