[Bangkok] When a café is named “Ministry of Roasters”, you know that you are probably in for some quality coffee and treats.

Ministry of Roasters at Phra Khanong is a combination of a café and roasting lab, known for selecting a variety of top-quality coffee beans from all around the world and Thailand.

This coffee space started with the owner’s passion for coffee and strong desire to share the knowledge about coffee production.

Specialising in roasting and extraction, cafe-goers can also be indulged by the wide variety of specialty coffee drinks.

Plus, the skillful team of baristas are champions of different coffee contests, so do come expecting some pure coffee deliciousness.

As soon as you step inside, you can feel the coffee beans’ aroma filling the whole café.

Before you even pick your coffee, find a seat within (or outside) the shop which has allocated seating areas into various zones.

You can go to the Espresso Bar & Counter Zone for a variety of signature beverage menus.

Or head to the Cupping Zone for an intimate coffee tasting experience with closer interaction with the baristas.

There is the Slow Zone with a bar decorated in simple clean style, but still manages to provide an amiable feel with light brown wooden furniture and clear glass to let natural light in.

Then, there is the Roasting Zone – they meticulously roast the coffee to achieve a memorable aroma.

If you need a peaceful place to concentrate (on work), it may get quite noisy in some of the sitting areas, especially indoors.

Then head outside to the garden area for more chill vibes.

The recommended coffee drinks include Single Origin Filter Coffee Hot (120 THB), Single Origin Filter Coffee Drip on Ice (120 THB), Yellow Sky (130 THB), Coconut Cold Brew (120 THB), and Dirty Original Coffee (120 THB).

There are also the Pla Kim Khai Tao (120 THB) – their take on Thai-style vermicelli in coconut milk, and Rose Valley Soda (150 THB).

The recommended Yellow Sky (130 THB) is interestingly divided into three layers – liquid lemon jam at the bottom, coffee in the middle, and concentrated milk foam.

It is further decorated with a little rosemary twig on the top.

Mix it well and appreciate the mellow taste with tangy-sweetness of the lemon jam juice. This drink should be good for people who prefer a milder coffee flavor.

The Tea Milk (110 THB) is an orange milk tea decorated with thin lemon slices on top, rather refreshing with a delicate tea scent.

As for the Matcha Milk Tea (110 THB), I enjoyed it very much (even though this is a coffee specialty shop) for its rich and concentrated taste. The drink is decorated with thin slices of bael on top.

For some sweet desserts, get the Cheese Cake Burnt Face (120 THB) which is a little crunchy, superbly buttery and rich which makes a good pairing with coffee.

The space can be a little bit on the crowded side since it is pretty popular as of now.

Ministry of Roasters

For coffee lovers who love to prepare their own cup at home, the shop sells over 30 flavours of coffee beans to choose from, as well as coffee-making equipment.

Make your way to 1 Sukhumvit Road at Bangchak (adjacent to Lotus Express), and there are also ample parking spots available.
