Holland Village is famous for its bustling night life, eclectic mix of restaurants, and lively streets.

Holland Village Food Centre located at 1 Lor Mambong is quite a gathering spot among locals for hawker food, though sometimes over-looked.

How much of you walked past the food centre without noticing it?

It is less prominent than say nearby Holland Drive Food Centre.

It recently reopened its doors after undergoing a renovation, offering patrons a refreshed experience (with new tables and better ventilation).

Here are 10 Holland Village Food Centre stalls you can check out: (Note that operational hours are indicative, and hawker stalls may close or end operations early.)

Holland Village Fried Bee Hoon
Holland Village Food Centre
Opening Hours: 6am – 12:30pm (Tues, Thurs – Sun), Closed Mon, Wed

Waking up to the comforting aroma of fried Bee Hoon is a ‘ritual’ many cherish.

At the Holland Village Fried Bee Hoon stall (which is one of the most popular stalls here), simplicity meets flavour.

The vermicelli here is lightly stir-fried and retains a good bite. The accompaniments such as stir-fried cabbage, luncheon meat slices, and crispy chicken wings enhance the overall texture and taste.

A dash of their sambal truly elevates the dish, lending it a spicy punch.

[Closed] Ming Fa Fishball Noodles
Holland Village Food Centre #01-14
Opening Hours: 8am – 8pm (Mon – Sun)

With its roots tracing back to a humble pushcart in the bylanes of Chinatown, Ming Fa has come a long way.

Their story, spanning over seven decades, is a testament to their commitment to taste and tradition.

Among the myriad of offerings, their Minced Pork Noodles and Fishball noodles stand out.

The noodles, tossed with crispy pork lard, vinegar, and chilli, serve as the perfect base for their fishballs.

Notably, these fishballs are crafted daily using only yellowtail fish paste, ensuring freshness with every bite.

363 Katong Laksa Holland Village Nasi Lemak
Holland Village Food Centre #01-15
Opening Hours: 7:30am – 9:30pm (Mon, Tues – Sun), Closed Wed

Since 1988, this stall (they once had a full shop front) has been offering Nasi Lemak with an array of side dishes, from chicken wings to mackerel fish.

Here, the Laksa strikes a balance. The broth is creamy yet not overwhelmingly so, allowing the spices to shine through.

Paired with noodles that are neither too soft nor too firm. Do add some of their Otah for that extra comfort.

Mei Di Noodle Store
Holland Village Food Centre #01-12
Opening Hours: 9am – 8pm (Mon – Sun)

Among the noodle stalls at Holland Village, Mei Di is also relatively popular. Their Mushroom Minced Pork Noodles, in particular, are worth a mention.

The dish provides a comforting, homey taste.

Qian Jiao Bai Wei Ma La Xiang Guo
Holland Village Food Centre #01-31
Opening Hours: 11:30am – 11pm (Mon – Sun)

The spicy allure of Mala Xiang Guo is undeniable, and Qian Jiao Bai Wei does this Sichuan dish justice.

Starting at $5, their “Fragrant Pot” is a customisable experience. With meat items priced frpm $3 per 100g, patrons can select from an assortment of chicken, pork, lamb, and more.

However, it is the balance in their pot that stands out. The tender enoki mushrooms juxtaposed against the hearty luncheon meat and the chewy rice cake create a medley of textures.

Meanwhile, the dried tofu skin and winter mushrooms soak up the spicy and numbing mala sauce, rendering every bite tasty without being overwhelmingly spicy.

Liang Ji Wanton Noodle
Holland Village Food Centre #01-18
Opening Hours: 8am – 9:30pm (Mon – Sun)

Liang Ji’s rendition of the black sauce wanton mee might remind some of Pontian-style noodles, but it carves out its different identity.

The flexibility in the choice of sauces — from tomato to a mix of chilli and black — allows one to tailor the dish to personal preferences.

With char siew slices that are tender, the addition of both soup and fried wanton ensures a balance between soft and crispy textures.

Holland Village Food Centre #01-16

Melding both Japanese and Korean flavours, Hui Wei is a stall for those seeking budget-friendly hotplate sets.
