One of the most highly anticipated buffet events in Singapore – Lobsterfest at Lime Restaurant is back, and bigger and better than before.

I have foodie friends who have asked from time to time, “When is LobsterFest returning?” You have your answer now.

This much-awaited comeback of the special buffet is happening at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering from 15 July till 31 August 2022, available for buffet dinners from 6:30pm to 10pm.

Regulars will know that this exhilarating all-you-can-eat lobster feast in one place is a haven for seafood lovers.

The claws-galore buffet features unlimited servings of lobster prepared in various ways at the buffet counters and live stations.

Signatures favourites including the Lobster with Chilli Crab Sauce, Black Pepper Lobster and Steamed Lobster with Golden Garlic Paste and Wine have made a come-back.

You may ask what else is there to anticipate this year.

There is a greater emphasis of ‘live’ cooking. Diners would find a larger selection of Boston lobsters on ice, and an outdoor alfresco barbecue side for grilled lobsters.

There will be more lobster dishes prepared ala minute, then served in a ‘pass-around’ format.

Here are some of highlights from Lime Restaurant’s Lobsterfest 2022: (Note: Menu items are on rotation basis and subject to change.)

Lobster with Chilli Crab Sauce
Inspired by local flavours, this mildly spicy Singapore-style chilli lobster is easily everyone’s favourite.

Wok-fried by skilled chefs, you get a sauce that is sweet, savoury, tangy and spicy all at the same time.

The Chef mentioned that some chilli padi are added in the sauce for some kick, but not too much so that you can still appreciate the sweet tomato flavours.

Nothing beats soaking up the rich eggy sauce with fluffy mantou, as you let the tender and flavourful lobster meat melt in your mouth.

Black Pepper Lobster
This is a lobster dish worth getting your hands dirty for. Wok-fried with Sarawak black pepper which is known for its complex peppery notes, you get to appreciate the sweet juicy meat contrasted with full-flavoured sauce.

Chef also mentioned that these signature dishes are freshly-prepared in smaller batches so that diners can get to savour food that is more hot and piping with wok-hei.

Steamed Lobster with Golden Garlic Paste and Wine
This dish reminds me of some Cantonese-style dishes, in particular Steamed Bamboo Clams with garlic.

The steaming allows diners to appreciate the sweet natural flavours of the lobsters better, while the Shaoxing wine and soy sauce enhances the flavours of the meat.

Topped with conspicuous amounts of minced garlic paste, this was a simple but incredibly flavourful dish.

Lime’s signature Lobster Laksa
If you are looking for luxurious comfort, the Baby Lobster Laksa Noodles prepared at the ‘live’ station is recommended with baby lobster flesh soaking up some of their lemak coconut-y rich gravy.

The gravy was not too spicy, and you would appreciate the creaminess… and oh, the soft quail egg within.

Lobster Risotto in Tarragon Cream
Lobster and risotto is a classic combination. You may have experienced a risotto dish in the first Lobsterfest, and they are bringing it back.

The tarragon sauce gives a delicate herby ‘summer’ flavour, which complements well with the chewy Arborio rice. (Even after leaving there for a while due to the photoshoot, the rice absorbs quite a bit of the sauces without becoming too mushy.)

A creamy, dreamy and indulgent Lobster Risotto dish. For Italian food lovers, you can also look out for the Lobster Penne with Caviar and Chive Cream.

Lobsters on ice
Explore beyond lobsters and go macro on the various seafood offered on the Ice Station. Get the freshest bounties of the ocean such as tiger prawns, black mussels, clams and whelk.

Here you can indulge in a whole Boston Lobster to appreciate the natural delicate sweet taste and chunky flesh sans sauces.

Pass-around Lobster Dishes
Something new this year, service ambassadors will also be moving from table to table with pass-around dishes – so look out for them.

These are prepared fresh, smaller almost tapas-style so that you can try more dishes, but satisfying enough in terms of portion.

Some of the highlights include classic Boston-style Lobster Roll, Lobster Cocktail, and Spicy Lobster Mango Skewers.

My personal favourite was the Vietnamese Lobster Spring Roll, served with a house-made chilli sauce with sour-tanginess that would give your taste buds an added zing.

Marinated Grilled Lobster
Want to witness more of the barbecue action? You can head to the Lime Restaurant’s barbecue corner, an outdoor al fresco patio where Chefs will grill up the freshest lobsters.

The natural sweetness of seafood simply harmonises with the charred flavours from the grill. You will be treated to servings of smoking-hot Grilled Rock Lobsters with succulence.

You can enjoy them au natural, or use the assortment of sauces on stand-by to further boost the flavours of these smoked crustaceans.

These sauces include Hollandaise, BBQ Smoked Hickory or Spicy Avocado.

Taking it up a notch this year, Lime Restaurant is also lining up daily entertainment and DJ music, so you can really feel the vibes while you wait for your food to be prepared.

End your buffet with sweet treats from their dessert counter, from Durian Pengat, Tiramisu, Passionfruit Creme Brulee, Cherry Pie, Oreo Cheesecake, and not forgetting their signature Chocolate Fountain with assorted toppings.

As part of the buffet, there is also unlimited beer, chilled juices, soft drinks, specialty coffee, tea, and a fresh coconut as welcome drink for a cooling treat.

Weekday Set Lunch Menu
Light eaters who may not be up for a full buffet can still enjoy the sweet and succulent lobster with Lime’s three-course set lunch at $38++.

The three-course includes a starter, main, fresh fruits and a choice of coffee, tea or soft drink.

Take your pick of a mouth-watering main which features options of California Lobster Roll, Beef Medallion and Lobster Ragout, Homemade Lobster Tortellini, or Lobster Risotto with Tarragon Cream.
