Caffeine Xpress started as a humble indie coffee place found inside the iconic Thambi Magazine store, but has since moved to the brand-new One Holland Village.

Despite its low-key location, Caffeine Xpress has previously garnered attention for its affordably priced coffee options.

Primarily a take-and-go place, you find your “daily cure” of Espresso ($3.80), Long Black ($5, $6), White ($5, $6), Mocha ($5.50, $6.50) and Cappuccino ($5, $6).

A change to oat or almond milk is at additional $1.

Non-coffee drinkers can go for the Matcha ($4, $5.50) and Chocolate ($4, $5.50).

One of the highlights is their Dalgona Latte ($6.50), which features triple espresso poured over bittersweet honeycomb for a more unique flavor.

Prices have gotten up about a dollar compared to its previous location.

Caffeine Xpress uses an expresso blend from local Six Four Coffee, a medium roast with low acidity, flavour of milk chocolate and hazelnut with smooth and long after taste.

I liked their coffee which was of medium body and well balanced, though some who need a stronger fix may find this on the light side.

There were a couple of rotating cakes offered like Lemon Meringue Pie and Blueberry Cheesecake, which was surprisingly baked in-house by the owner’s brother.

There are also other bakes such as Canelé, Basque Burnt Cheesecake, Sourdough Chocolate Cake, Lamington Cake, and selection of Muffins.

While primarily a take-and-go establishment, there are a couple of (wobbly) chairs and two swings outside where customers can sit and enjoy the lively atmosphere of One Holland Village.
