Good Pig Trotters Fried Bee Hoon has become the go-to spot for CBD folks craving comforting Bee Hoon.

While the eatery has evolved in name over the years – starting as 108 Eating House in 1997, then morphing into Good Old Taste before settling on its current moniker – its reputation for mouth-watering Pig Trotters Bee Hoon and more remains unchanged.

Navigating through the hustle and bustle of Raffles Place, tucked away within The Arcade, one might find the eatery ‘hidden’ in plain sight.

While lunchtime often sees it buzzing with customers, the morning hours are truly the golden time to enjoy the Bee Hoon, which frequently sells out by 10:30am.

This dish, while simple in appearance, speaks volumes about the eatery’s dedication to traditional way of cooking.

And if you are looking to add a little extra to your plate, the eatery offers additional ingredients like sunny side up eggs, fishcakes, luncheon meat, and fish fillet.

A plate depending on the ingredients would be about $5 or so.

Thin rice noodles soak up the hearty flavors of braised fatty trotters, resulting in Bee Hoon that is both savory and slightly wet.

It is not just about the taste.

The texture of the bitsy noodles, combined with the tender pieces of pork trotters meat and crispy fried pork lard puffs, creates a homey experience with every bite.

While I won’t say this was super flavourful, it could remind some of what their parents or even grandparents would cook at home.

Now, while the Bee Hoon is undoubtedly the star attraction here, given the emphasis in its name, the eatery isn’t limited to this one dish.

A diverse menu boasts other traditional favorites such as Hainanese Chicken Rice, Soya Sauce Chicken Noodle, Fishball Noodles, and Laksa.

So if Pig Trotters Bee Hoon isn’t your cup of tea, there are always other local dishes to order. But there is a always a good reason why the eatery changed name to this.
