Love Thai-style Fried Banana Fritters?
Talad Thai Banana is relatively popular with its main store at Thai Supermarket at Aperia Mall already drawing crowds.
They have also opened a second outlet at AMK Hub #B2-17, and the next at Punggol Waterway Point come end November.
One of the most popular stalls at Thai Supermarket at Aperia Mall, Talad Thai Banana sells Thai Fried Bananas ($4 for 6 pcs, $5 for 8pcs) and Sweet Potato Balls ($5 for 12 pcs) which are popular street food snacks in Thailand.
However when they first opened, there was a little mix-up, though, with some folks mistaking them for the original Thai Banana stall once located near the Thai Supermarket at Golden Mile.
But let’s set the record straight – they are different, each with their own take on this Thai classic. Golden Banana is now found at City Gate (Beach Road).
The star of the show is undoubtedly the Thai Fried Bananas ($4 for 6pc or $5 for 8pcs).
They are prepared using Nam Wa bananas sourced directly from Thailand, thinly sliced and coated in a batter that is of their unique recipe.
They come out of the fryer crisp and can be dangerously moreish.
However, I have to say, they do carry a bit more grease than expected, and the oil’s freshness could be kicked up a notch.
Their Thai Yam Chips ($4) and the Mixed Favourites ($6) – a sampler of their signature batter-coated delights – also vie for attention. .
As they swing open their doors at AMK Hub, the first 100 customers can snag those irresistible banana fritters for just $2, down from the usual $4.
Just remember, it’s a one-time treat per customer, and only at the AMK Hub outpost on 8 November.
With sights set on expansion, Talad Thai Banana is not slowing down, with their third outlet set to open at Waterway Point by the end of November.
