IF you are craving for one cup of Hot Chocolate before flying out of Singapore, perhaps you can head to this customisable hot chocolate bar

Beanfolks by Lemuel Chocolate recently opened at Jewel Changi Airport Level 3 terms itself as “Singapore’s first specialty hot chocolate bar”.

But there are cafes such as The Dark Gallery, Janice Wong Pure Imagination, Awfully Chocolate Bakery & Café, and Mr. Bucket Chocolaterie which are chocolate specialty cafes.

Created by the team behind Lemuel Chocolate at The Star Vista, the design is an eye-catching vibrant orange branding with enticing display of their chocolate beans.

What sets Beanfolks apart is its DIY approach to hot chocolate, with rotating single-origin chocolates with variety of cocoa percentages to choose from.

Prices for drinks range from $7.50 to $8 each – with a choice of Mocha with coffee beans from Common Man.

Customers can go in a four-step customising process for their drinks. First, they choose a base from options like iced or hot chocolate, or mocha.

Then, they select from eight different types of chocolate, ranging from 30% White, 33% Caramel, 54% Milk, 85% Dark Chocolate, to 90% Ghana Dark.

The third step involves choosing the type of milk such as dairy, soy and oat.

And finally, you can add infusion flavours such as Sea Salt, Biscoff Cookie, Rosemary, Rose, Black Sesame, Ginger, Mango, or Cinnamon.

For an extra treat, sweet foam or marshmallow toppings are available for an additional $0.50.

The beans used at Beanfolks are prepared in-house, undergoing a meticulous process that includes hand sorting, low-medium roasting, cracking for nibs, and grinding in a stone mill for up to 78 hours.

This careful preparation ensures rich chocolatey flavours of their offerings.

I had the 70% Dark Ecuador Iced Chocolate, with a deep and slightly bitter taste, quite smooth and velvety but not too thick.

This robustness would be softened by the coolness of the ice, creating a refreshing contrast.

Apart from the drinks, they also offer an array of sweet treats including Cookie ($5), Brownie ($5.50), and Canele ($4.50).

Whether you’re rushing through the airport or have time to spare, it’s spot to explore your chocolate fantasies and create a drink that’s yours.
