Seems like quite a number of coffee places have opened at the bustling Ion Orchard of late.
Other than Puzzle Coffee, and Le Matin, there are the newly launched Marimekko Cafe, Cinnabon, and Common Man Coffee Roasters – On The Go.
Making its mark at Ion Orchard B3-27/28, this “CMCR On The Go” concept is a primarily takeaway store by a pioneer in the specialty coffee scene.
First opened in 2013, you can find other CMCR outlets at Martin Road, Stanley Street, Joo Chiat, Quayside Isle and Alexandra.
The roastery has definitely come some way since their establishment.
The Ion Orchard space is good for quick urban bites, though there are some seats around.
Coffee isn’t the only thing here.
There are sandwiches such as Chicken & Bacon on Sourdough ($16) and Roasted Vegetable & Cheese Focaccia ($14) which offers medley of veggies and the rich creaminess of cheese.
Moving on to the pies and quiches, the Beef Cheek Pie ($9) has moist beef encased in a baked crust; or get the Smoked Salmon & Feta Spinach Quiche ($10) which is light and flaky.
For those with a sweet tooth, the Chai Loaf ($10) with its cream and fruit offers a spicy-sweet experience, while the Chocolate Tart ($12) was decadently rich.
Or you can always get one of those bakes supplied by Tiong Bahru Bakery, such as Green Tea Croissant filled with green tea and almond paste, topped with flaked almonds, matcha powder and icing sugar.
Using signature coffee blends and single-origins roasted in-house, one of the recommended is the CMCR Espresso Blend, boasting flavors of ripe cherry, stone fruit, and milk chocolate, for a full-bodied brew.
The Lucky Basterd Blend, vibrant and fruit-forward, offered floral notes, hints of blueberries, and tropical fruit, making it a more refreshing coffee choice.
A pit stop for both busy shoppers and those looking to unwind.
