“Smooth like butter, pull you in like no other…”

A bagel cafe called “Butter” right in the heart of town?

Yup, this is Butter by Two Men Bagel House – that popular Bagel shop.

The Two Men team has been rather busy of late, having just opened Two Men Rice Bar at Tanjong Pagar.

Butter The Grease Station by Two Men Bagel House is actually found right next to Somerset‘s skate park within Trifecta – Asia’s first-ever snow, surf, and skate attraction.

(I couldn’t find the location on Grab, but you can stop at Triple One Somerset or 313, and take a short walk over.)

Butter is a “modern cafeteria” that exudes youthful vibes, matching the energy of its surroundings.

Stepping into Butter felt vibrant, thanks in part to the usual vibes of Two Men Bagel House and its reputation for dynamite breakfast offerings.

Butter though is not just a morning treat place, extending its menu into the evening.

Over here, they put a spotlight on three comforting classics – Bagels, Croissants, and Pancakes.

And true to its name, there is a golden thread tying everything together… butter.

For those keen to try Bagelwiches, there are the Sweet Chickens ($18) with fried chicken with sriracha honey butter; and Sup’ Beef ($20) included with hamburg au jus, sauteed mushrooms, sunny egg and more.

I saw “spam” and couldn’t resist. Loved the Poo Bear Bagelwich ($19), a mix of spicy peanut butter, spam, scrambled egg, pork floss, and garlic aioli.

While I cherished the hearty breakfast-type fillings, a softer bagel would have elevated the experience.

But if bagels aren’t your morning go-to, perhaps a Croissantwich will entice.

Supplied by Mooi Patisserie, these croissants carry flavours from the familiar to the innovative.

I relished the Roundhouse C ($17) – its spicy takana butter, house chashu, romaine lettuce, and sunny egg harmonised well with the croissant’s crisp exterior.

There are also the Heritage ($15) with salted gula melaka, panadan kaya, hanjuku egg; and Yolko Ono ($16) included with sun-dried tomato butter, egg salad, avocado.

No meal is complete without a side, and Butter ensures there’s no shortage of options.

There are many sides for sharing, such as Pita Cheeks (pita bread with braised beef cheek), Nacho Chips, Crunchix (fried chicken with brown butter chilli crunch), to Flipside (fish fingers).

My pick, the Vans ($10) was an addictive portion of waffle fries seasoned with house tomato powder, smoked maple butter, and spicy sriracha aioli.

It is the kind of dish that gets your fingers smudged and your heart content. (It reminded me of something familiar, then thought about tomato-flavoured Twisties. Tell me if you feel the same way).

To wash it all down, a cup of coffee from Melbourne’s renowned St ALi beans hit the spot, striking a balance between the rich flavours of the meal and the subtle bitterness of well-brewed coffee.

Butter by Two Men Bagel House is a spot where the vibrancy of youth meets the comfort of timeless classics. A place to skate, surf, snow, and… have sandwiches with a difference.
