And finally, BHC Chicken (BHC치킨) from Korea will be opening in Singapore, to be located at Marina Square.

The official opening date is scheduled to be 26 April 2023.

The other popular Korean brand in the same mall is dal.komm COFFEE.

Many also call this the “Jun Ji-hyun” Fried Chicken.

Many will remember that the hit Korean drama “My Love From Another Star” sparked off a Chimaek craze a few years ago.

BHC Chicken or “Better & Happier Choice” is one of most popular Korean Fried Chicken chains, having opened over thousands of stores since 2004.

The Fried Chicken franchise has engaged Jun Ji-hyun who played a Korean Chicken Lovin’ actress in the hit series, as exclusive model due to her huge influence.

Her captivating smile and enthusiastic endorsements of BHC Chicken have helped to boost the popularity of the brand even further.

I last ate BHC a couple of months ago at Myeongdong.

The BHC Chicken outlet in Myeongdong is one of the most known spots for Singaporeans, a spot for a late supper as it opens up to 11pm daily.

The easiest way to get to BHC Chicken outlet in Myeongdong is from Euljiro 1-ga Station (Line 2 Exit 5).

Many tourists would take selfies front of the BHC stores where Jun Ji-hyun’s photos are plastered.

The Myeongdong outlet is fuss-free eatery with dozens of wooden table and large crowds of visitors who are drinking their beers and eating chicken.

Hot BHC favourites are the Bburinkle Chicken, Gold King and Macho King.

On the menu also includes Sunflower Fried Chicken, Sauce Chicken, Wing Fried Chicken Spicy Sauce Chicken, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Crispy Chicken, to Queen Curry Chicken.

Each portion is about 20,000 Won (SGD20.40) or so in Korea.

As for sides, you can go for the Cheese Balls, Sotteok, and Bburing Hotdog.

One of the stand-out features of BHC Chicken is its use of fresh ingredients and cooking techniques to keep the chicken juicy, with a crispy exterior would be coated in a variety of mouth-watering sauces.

I had the Curry Queen which also came in a boneless version at the same price. They came piping hot, expectedly with crunchy exterior and tender meat.

In a repeat visit, I had the Half-and-Half Chicken (19,000 Won) which wasn’t as impressive as I wished it to be.

The meat could be more marinated as it was rather surprisingly bland. Perhaps consistency issues.

Certainly hope Singapore’s Marina Square outlet at keep up to the usual quality standard.

Oh yes, I asked. Nope, Jun Ji-hyun won’t be coming for the opening.
