Selamat Datang Warong Pak Sapari is a popular Halal hawker stall located at Adam Road Food Centre.

It is known for its delicious and authentic Malay dishes, particularly its Mee Soto and Mee Rebus.

It is not often you find a stall specializing in just Mee Soto and Mee Rebus, and Selamat Datang Warong Pak Spari is probably where you need to head down if you love either. Or both.

The Singapore Michelin Guide has pretty much overlooked these two dishes for a long time, and well… has included this stall in 2023’s Michelin Bib Gourmand.

And a well-deserved one.

The stall which has been around since the 1970s, is currently helmed by 3rd generation owner Mr Sumadi.

Hungry? Other items in the menu include Sup Ayam (Chicken Soup), Sup Mempedal (Chicken Gizzards Soup), Sup Daging Tetel (Mutton Tendon Soup), Sup Babat (Beef Tribe Soup), Bee Hoon Soto, and Bubur Ayam (Chicken Porridge).

The Mee Soto ($4.00) is a must-try for any lover of Malay cuisine, and I would say one of the best renditions you can find in Singapore.

Consisting of yellow noodles served in a fragrant soup made with chicken broth, spices, and herbs, the soup was spicy and savoury, with a rich and flavourful taste.

The broth itself is said to be made up of 21 different ingredients.

May not for the faint-hearted in terms of the spice levels, but this is one that hits you on the palate with shiokness and satisfaction.

The robust has this robust taste that is said to be a result of brewing of whole chickens for a minimum of 3 hours. However, I have read some reviews saying that it has become more diluted recently.

The other recommended is the hearty bowl of Mee Rebus ($4.00) which comes with yellow noodles served in a thick gravy made from a blend of potatoes and spices.

This is further topped with tau kwa cubes, cut green chillies, coriander, fried shallots and a whole egg.

The thick gravy was also on the spicier side with slightly sweet and complex flavour, and a dash of sambal kicap gave the flavours a whole new dimension.

Top up with a Bergedil (deep-fried potato cake) at $1.20.

The dishes at Selamat Datang Warong Pak Sapari are well-loved for its generous portion size and hearty flavours, often earning rave review from customers.

Now, I am having my cravings.
