Singapore’s coffee scene just got a whole lot more aromatic with the arrival of Fore Coffee at Bugis Junction.

The Indonesian coffee titan, celebrated for its impressive roster of over 160 stores back home, has brought its artisanal touch to the bustling hub of Bugis.

To find the cafe, head over to Bugis Junction at Level 1, located near the Plaza Fountain.

Fore Coffee promises a blend of Indonesian culture and modern flavours.

Walking into Fore Coffee, the scent of high-grade Arabica beans may just envelop you.

Sourced from the region of Aceh, Toraja, Java and Bali, Fore Coffee prides itself on transforming the traditional coffee experience with its unique offerings.

First time to Fore Coffee? Then I would recommend first starting with its three signature creations. Here’s more:

Gula Aren Latte ($6.50)
The Gula Aren Latte is Fore Coffee’s Number 1 best-selling in Indonesia, and also my personal favourite.

It does intrigue with its exotic sweetness of Gula Aren – an Indonesian palm sugar known for its rich, caramel-like taste.

Take a sip and you there is that distinctive flavour that elevates this iced latte beyond the usual coffee affair.

The Gula Aren is less sweet than processed white sugar but with a richer flavour profile. It brings a smoky sweetness with a molasses-like depth that can also have subtle undertones (would say somewhat like toffee and butterscotch).

Pandan Oat Latte ($6.50)
Think many will like this. This drink weaves the fragrant allure of pandan with the smoothness of creamy oat milk.

The pandan imparts a gentle, grassy sweetness (which reminded me of some desserts), while the oat milk rounds it off with a velvety finish.

This was a close second favourite for me.

Butterscotch Sea Salt Latte ($6.50)
This indulgent concoction balances the buttery depth of butterscotch with a playful dash of sea salt.

This creates a symphony of sweet and slight salty notes.

The salt doesn’t overwhelm; instead, it brings out the richness of the butterscotch, making for a sophisticated, layered beverage.

Interestingly, after trying it, we all thought this gelled with the festive mood around.

Cranberricano ($6)
If you love something lighter and more refreshing, go for the “Americano” series with Cranberricano ($6) or Berry Manuka Americano ($6).

The Cranberricano caught my eye first. It is a twist on the classic Americano, a concoction that spikes the espresso with cranberry juice.

The first sip brought a tart sharpness that mellowed into the Americano’s deep notes.

The cranberry added a berry-like zing. Something good for the festive period too?

Honey Citrus Jasmine ($6)
Then there are the Honey Citrus Jasmine or Hibiscus Passion Fruit from their “Refreshers” series.

This is a liquid ode to the tropics with a special blend of tropical fruit notes, Manuka honey, and jasmine tea.

The Manuka honey lent a sweetness that didn’t overpower, while the jasmine tea offered a floral freshness.

It was the kind of drink that in the heat of Singapore, felt like a cool breeze.

For those with a love for the classics, Fore Coffee Singapore has a full spectrum from Espresso, Flat White, Latte, Cappuccino to Mocha.

Also, tt is a customisable coffee experience.

You can tailor your drink (+$1) with almond, oat, or low-fat milk; and a variety of flavours from vanilla, butterscotch, aren, pandan, manuka honey, tripe peach, salted caramel, to elderflower.

Food-wise, expect to find a small but distinctive array of baked goods and pastries.

The Cempedak Crumble Tart ($5.50) tantalises with its crunchy crumble and sweetness of Cempedak; while the Caramelaka Financier ($5) has deep caramel-like flavours from the Gula Aren.

I enjoyed the Ube Mochi Croissant ($6) with flaky exterior matched with purple yam-infused chewy fillings for that contrast.

There are also the Burnt Cheese Gula Aren Croissant ($6.50), Kouign Amann ($5), and savoury Creamy Chicken Pain Suisse ($6) with comforting chicken filling.
