Aperia Mall, situated conveniently near Lavender MRT station, has witnessed a noticeable change, with the recent influx of Thai restaurants from the now-defunct Golden Mile Complex.

With the culinary diversity, there is a quaint patisserie café, Aimer La Patisserie, that may deserve a mention.

Previously an online-only venture, Aimer La Patisserie—Aimer translating to “Love” in English—now adorns a cosy corner near Cold Storage within the mall.

The cafe is modest in size, offering limited seating, but what it lacks in space, it more than makes up for with its rather wide menu.

From exquisite cakes and homemade ice cream to enticing cookies and intriguing UFO Sandwiches, Aimer La Patisserie tries to cover a wide spectrum despite its size.

Their cake lineup, while not extensive when I visited, includes The Dark Wood 70% ($8), a variant of the Black Forest Gateau, and the intriguing Taro Floss ($8) with sweet-savoury combination are tempting in their own right.

I chose the Classic Strawberry Fraisier ($9) in the end, with fresh strawberries added a pleasing tartness.

This French-style strawberry cake had genoise sponge which was airy and light, yet held its structure, enveloping a creme mousseline that was silky and subtly sweet.

I initially wanted to order the Basque Cheesecake ($8) which came in strawberry and vanilla bean lemon flavours, but wondered about the size and presentation. Perhaps display can be better looked at, since visuals play a big part for cake stores.

An unexpected delight was the Black Sesame Daifuku ($4), one of their interesting offerings alongside other flavours like strawberry, osmanthus rice wine, and passionfruit apricot.

The mochi dessert was filled with an earthy black sesame cream that held a fine balance between sweet and nutty. The inclusion of beancurd pudding added an interesting textural contrast.

Whether you are in the mood for a classic French-style cake or craving a mochi dessert, this patisserie can be a visit at Aperia Mall.
