[Closing] If New York pancakes are your thing, Clinton Street Baking Company & Restaurant which is a famed American breakfast institution should be a familiar name.
Hailing from Lower East Side New York, it has an outlet in Singapore at Purvis Street, of walking distance from Bugis MRT station.
After 7 years in Singapore, the Singapore outlet has announced that it will be closing soon, and the last day of service will be on 30 Aug 2022 (Tues).
On a “notice of closure” on its Facebook, the team would like to thank customers for their patronage and support over the past 7 years.
Its breakfast is served all days, with signature items of Buttermilk Biscuit Sandwich ($19.00), Eggs Benedict ($24), Spanish Scrambled ($23), Pancakes with Warm Maple Butter ($21) with choice of blue berries and banana walnut or chocolate chunks.
If you usually have a sweet tooth, I would recommend the Pancakes with Warm Maple Butter ($21), which have been voted twice as the best in the city by New York Magazine.
These pancakes come with a choice of blueberries, banana walnut or chocolate chunks.
Something to know: The warm maple butter for the pancakes is made with just 2 quality ingredients – 100% pure organic Grade ‘A’ dark maple syrup directly imported from a North American farm and unsalted butter made from 100% fresh cream from free-range cows.
It is also known for its Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Vanilla Buttermilk Waffle ($19), which would come drizzled with the warm maple butter served on crispy Belgian vanilla buttermilk waffle.
Clinton Street’s other popular dish is the breakfast plate which has a rural-Americana vibe to it.
Known as the Farmer’s Plate ($26.00), it includes wedges of farmhouse cheddar, soft and creamy scrambled eggs, herb-roasted tomatoes, and two rosemary pork patties next to nicely toasted sourdough bread.
