Many Thai restaurants which were previously located at Golden Mile Complex has moved to nearby City Gate Mall (Beach Road) and Aperia Mall.

BeerThai House is one of those ‘hidden’ gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience which are looking for affordable and authentic-tasting Thai fare.

Founded by the esteemed Chef Somsak Chomprach, this restaurant is known for its Thai delicacies that leave foodies craving for more.

Worthy to know is Chef was handpicked to be the Thai chef for Thai Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s visit to Singapore in 2009, and his daughter has taken over the business.

The restaurant’s recent move from Golden Mile Complex to City Gate Mall has not dampened its charm; if anything, it has enhanced the overall dining experience to be more comfortable. And it is easier to find now.

BeerThai House takes pride in its extensive menu, showcasing a wide range of Thai fare, plus they are not that expensive too.

Some of the standout dishes include Basil Minced Pork ($12), Sliced Pork Salad ($12), Steamed Sotong ($20), Claypot Prawn Tanghoon ($25), Green Curry Chicken ($12, $15), Tom Yum Seafood ($12, $15), to Thai Mango Salad ($6).

No visit to BeerThai House is complete without trying their famous Thai Boat Noodles ($6).

Available with beef or pork options and the choice of dry or soup, these noodles are a crowd pleaser.

Some online reviews mentioned theirs is the “best in Singapore”, so I was really keen to try out.

The broth was indeed rich and flavourful, though sweetness than the usual – quite a comforting bowl of goodness.

I only thought some of the beef parts were tough and chewy, and so it unfortunately won’t be the ‘perfect’ bowl for me. But all in all, indeed worth a try.

For those craving a hearty meal, the Thai Pork Leg Rice is a ’legit’ choice and brought me back to the streets of Thailand.

The succulent and tender pork leg, slow-cooked till soft, was served on a bed of fragrant jasmine rice.

The melt-in-the-mouth pork leg was completed with flavourful savoury sauce (also on the sweet side) and tangy chilli, adding an extra layer of taste that elevated the ’shiokness’ level.

To complement your meal, don’t miss out on the Thai Prawn Cakes ($12 for 4 pieces).

These crispy and golden-brown delights (though looking slightly pale) were packed with succulent prawns and were so juicy, making it a worthy-appetiser to have to enjoy with cold Thai Milk Tea.
