Eat 3 Bowls 呷三碗, a celebrated Taiwanese cafe situated at Crawford Lane, has announced its forthcoming closure, with its last day of service scheduled for 24 September 2023.

This news may strike a chord with its devoted patrons, especially those who have witnessed its growth from a modest stall at Seah Im Food Centre to its well-loved establishment at Crawford Lane.

While the Lavender outlet is bidding farewell, the train-themed branch in Pasir Panjang stands strong, continuing to serve its customers.

In more exciting news for the foodies in the Northeast of Singapore, there is a new outlet opening at Sengkang Compass One (#B1-17).

The ambiance at the Crawford Lane outlet is a journey back in time.

Designed to emulate a 1990s Taiwanese-style classroom, the space boasts wooden tables and chairs, a large notice board, and custom army-green canvas bags draped over chairs, adding an authentic touch.

Their signature Taiwanese cuisine offerings, the three celebrated bowls, give Eat 3 Bowls 呷三碗 its distinctive name.

These are the Braised Pork Rice, Chicken Rice, and Oyster Intestine Mee Sua.

Each dish presents a medley of flavours and textures, transporting diners straight to the streets of Taiwan.

Their Eat Three Bowls Set ($16) is a good way to experience the trio of their specialties along with a beverage.

The Lu Rou Fan, or Braised Pork Rice, stands out with its harmonious blend of pork meat and fats that have been braised for several hours.

The result is a delectable mound of fluffy, short-grain rice adorned with a semi-oily sauce, striking the balance between moist and oily, offering a comforting taste.

The Taiwanese “Chicken Rice,” relatively hard-to-find in Singapore, is another to-try-item on their menu.

Reminiscent of the 喷水鸡肉饭 or “Fountain Chicken Rice” from Taiwan’s Chaiyi, this dish offers tender, shredded chicken atop rice, seasoned with onion and a light soy sauce.

Although similar to its Taiwanese counterpart, the local rendition boasts a less greasy take.

The Oyster Intestine Mee Sua is another dish that deserves mention, resonating with diners with its homey taste.

Complementing their core offerings are other delectable options like Salted Crispy Chicken, Sweet Potato Fries, and Fried Tempura.

For those who have yet to experience the magic of Eat 3 Bowls 呷三碗 or wish to relive the memories, the clock is ticking.

Don’t miss out on this iconic culinary journey before the curtains fall at the Crawford Lane outlet.
