[Bangkok] Started off as an online bakery and pop-up stores at various mall, Holiday Pastry has since then garnered a following from its sell-out signature O.M.G. Pie.

Those with a sweet tooth can look out for seasonal creative desserts such as Durian Cheese Pie, Mango Sticky Rice Mochi and Black Truffle Custard Mooncake.

Now you can make your way to Charoen Nakhon at Khlong San District for this pastry cafe.

Their latest flagship store features a modern contemporary space decked in warm wooden tones complimented with garden greenery view.

The full glass window also allows natural light to pour into the store and softened with a touch of fresh flower decorations.

The brainchild behind this space is a popular young Thai celebrity, Inn Sarin Ronnakiat, who has starred in several Thai dramas such as “The Miracle of Teddy Bear” and modelling projects.

If you are lucky to get star-struck like me, you may be able to catch Khun Inn at the store, setting tables and serving customers with his handsome smile.

I have been eyeing their O.M.G. Pie (THB350, SGD13.20) for quite a while on social media, and it certainly didn’t disappoint.

Using oatmeal soft cookie as base, the pie is then filled with vanilla custard cream and topped with a thin caramelized layer on the surface, akin to a Crème Crulee.

Start the ritual by cracking open the thin caramel tuile layer, you then get a mouthful of sticky chewy cookie base, coupled with smooth creamy vanilla filling embedded with pieces of crunchy caramelized sugar.

Dubbed as “The Best French Toast Ever” (THB320, SGD12.10), my pick goes to these two pieces of brioche toast soaked with vanilla custard, freshly piped with malted milk froth upon serving.

I liked its buttery aroma infused in soft brioche bread and further candied with a slight crispy caramelized exterior.

Absolutely sinful, but delicious.

At the flagship store, full dining menu are also available with a good selection of brunch items.

Inspired by western and Asian influences, some of the menu offerings are such as Korean Spicy Cheese Chicken Bombs (THB320, SGD12.10), Egg & Hen in Truffle Sauce (THB350, SGD13.20) and Mentaiko Carbonara Spaghetti (THB320, SGD12.10).

A clear win for me which took me by surprise, was the Mala Spaghetti with Crispy Chicken (THB320, SGD12.10) that came with al-dente spaghetti noodles tossed in house-concocted mala-sauce and mala-seasoned crispy chicken.

As an avid mala-fan, the flavour was on point – spicy but not too overpowering.

Yet retaining the true essence of the piquant flavours from the blend of spices used, as well as infused with tinge of numbing sensation.

The drinks menu is also extensive with coffee and non-coffee creations such as O.M.G. Coffee (THB240, SGD9.10), Bon Fire (THB220, SGD8.30), Ichigo Strawberry Milk (THB160, SGD6.10) and Uji Matcha Latte (THB160, SGD6.10)

Maybe its just me but I found the drinks priced slightly on the higher side compared to the food.

As the space is quite an insta-worthy spot for many and with limited seating capacity, it is better to go early to avoid long waiting time.
